for the tay-tay chronicles....
so tay's bottom 4th tooth became loose the last few days. today...very loose. this evening it's hanging by the last bit connected to the gum and it's so close to separating that it's beginning to temp my gag reflex. as she brushes her teeth before bed, i hear a wail. she has twisted the thing to where the front now faces the back & is stuck. i'm sure the sharp edge of the tooth is cutting against her gum thereby causing the pain she's complaining of having. i tell her to twist it back without looking too closely. i'm positive i'll ralph if i get a good look. she complies and says it's better. she finishes brushing her teeth. as a part of our routine, i go over her teeth, getting all the corners those darn kids love to miss, all while trying to avoid staring at the tender, bloody area. success. but not to her. she wants to know WHY her tooth isn't coming out. i respond with, "well maybe it wants to come out tomorrow at school" and think, "yeah, so the teacher can deal with the blood!" this satisfies taylor as she no longer pursues any more questions. i tuck her in and say goodnight. about 5 minutes later, she bursts out of her room screaming, "my tooth came out!!!!" with her open palm extended out to me. luckily due to all the bleeding before brushing, there isn't a lot of blood oozing from her mouth as she's expressing her utter joy of what's just happened. and then, the most unexpected thing comes out of her mouth, "mama, can i text uncle stacy that i lost my tooth?" (we had called him earlier in the evening to wish him a happy birthday, so he was on her mind) and to top that off...look for the text she typed:
